Features Potala Palace Lhasa
The Potala Palace is located in Lhasa, in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
Built at an altitude of 3,700 m (12,100 ft) on the slope of Ri Marpo in the center of the Lhasa Valley, the Potala Palace, with its broad inward sloping walls, is only broken at the top.
Its sections with flat rows of numerous windows and flat roofs on various levels are in appearance no different from a castle.
At the southern base of the rock is a large area surrounded by walls and gates, with large porticoes on the inside.
A series of acceptably easy stairs cut by gentle climbing intervals lead to the top of the rock.
The entire width of it is occupied by the palace.According to historical records, the first structure in the region was built during the reign of Songzanganbu, the king of the Tubo Kingdom, who ruled in the 7th century.
When it was first made, it was called Hongshan Palace, meaning the Red Mountain Palace.
With the fall of the Tubo Kingdom in the 9th century, Hongshan Palace was also destroyed. In 1645, the Fifth Dalai Lama ordered that a new palace be built on the site of Hongshan Palace.
The building, which was completed with continuous additions for 300 years from 1645, is now known as the Potala Palace. The Potala Palace was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994.Please choose your desired Potala Palace wallpaper and set it as a lock screen or home screen to give your phone an outstanding appearance. We are grateful for your great support and always welcome your feedback about Potala Palace wallpapers.
